Ya Te Puedes Casar™

Traditional Mexican family recipes, stories, and memories passed down through generations.

Traditional Mexican family recipes, stories, and memories passed down through generations.

A cookbook project inspired by the meals, traditions, and love shared around my family’s dinner table.

More Than Just Recipes

Growing up, food was how my family showed love.My grandparents spent hours preparing meals that brought everyone together around the dinner table. These recipes carried stories, traditions, laughter, sacrifice, and care — even when there wasn’t much else to give. For a long time, I was afraid of embracing my Mexican heritage because of the racism I experienced growing up. Over time, I began reconnecting with my culture, language, and traditions, and this cookbook became part of that journey.Ya Te Puedes Casar™ is my way of preserving my family’s recipes while creating a welcoming space for others to reconnect with culture, family, and home through food.

Everyone Is Welcome at the Table

This cookbook is for:those who grew up with these recipes,
those reconnecting with their heritage,
those who never had the chance to learn family traditions,
and those discovering Mexican cooking for the first time.
Whether these meals remind you of home or introduce you to something entirely new, I hope they help create moments of connection, comfort, and love around your own table.

The Heart of the Kitchen

Many of the recipes in this cookbook use traditional ingredients and kitchen tools that have been passed down through generations. From piloncillo and dried chiles to molcajetes, molinillos, and comales, these elements carry history, flavor, and memory into the kitchen. If some of these ingredients or tools are unfamiliar to you, that’s okay — this cookbook was created to welcome both those who grew up with these traditions and those discovering them for the first time.Cooking these recipes is not about perfection. It’s about learning, sharing, and creating moments of connection both in the kitchen and around the table.
